Pauline Gibbons

Pauline Gibbons is an Adjunct Professor at the University of New South Wales Australia, where she teaches courses in teaching English as a second language. Her work with teachers has taken her to Hong Kong, Sweden, Laos, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, China, South Africa, Marshall Islands, Iran, Germany, UK and USA, among other locations. She has also worked with teachers in remote indigenous communities in Australia; with English as a second language and subject teachers across Australia; and in International Schools in South East Asia. She has published extensively in the TESOL area, including Bridging Discourses in the ESL Classroom: Teachers, Students and Researchers (2006) Continuum; English Language Learners, Academic Literacy and Thinking (2009) Heinemann; and Scaffolding Language, Scaffolding Learning (2nd edition 2015) Heinemann.
