Helle Pia Laursen

Helle Pia Laursen, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Danish School of Education, University of Aarhus. Her main research interests include language and literacy in multilingual settings. She is a research leader of the longitudinal research project Signs of Language (2008-2017), which explores children’s meaning making processes and practices in relation to literacy in linguistically diverse classrooms. The project received international recognition in 2014 when it won The European Language Label. Helles recent publications include Multilingual children between real and imaginary worlds Language play as resignifying practice (Applied Linguistics, forthcoming, co-authored with Kirsten Kolstrup); Timespacing competence.
