DR SERGIO PAWEL -CHIEF ACADEMIC OFFICER
Sergio Pawel has 35 years of experience in national and international education in the UK, Latin America and Middle East. With an MSc in Nuclear Physics, MPhil in Philosophy of Science and PhD in Education, Sergio Pawel participated in the development of the English National Curriculum and has been a regular contributor to the development of the IB Diploma and Middle Years Science programmes as an examiner, moderator, team leader and programme authorization visitor.
His research interests range from post constructivist ideas of authentic science laboratory learning practices to study of cultural diversity as learning resource and he is a member of the review board for the Science Education Review journal.
With many years of experience in the areas of leadership, administration and management of schools, Sergio Pawel is involved in leading Council of International Schools (CIS) and New England Association Council (NEASC) accreditations in Europe, Africa and Middle East. He has particular expertise in planning the set up, implementation, development and evaluation of new curriculum models.
Sergio speaks regularly at all major international education conferences, such as AIE, ECIS, IPSEF and IB as well as regional conferences and workshops in the fields of leadership, curriculum modeling, multilingualism and international education.
